Halowe'en at the Castle
Posted October 30, 2005

From the Desk of Dosa Ravengard

I was struck speechless as I entered the Monday Madness castle today. Seems ghouls and goblins have been weaving their magic in preparation for the Halloween Spooktacular this Monday. Seems the theme of the night is Chez Death (House of Death).

The Castle Ready for Hallowe'en

As I move through the castle, I must step over body parts and entrails to make my way to the deep recesses of the castle dungeon. I am looking for some special items for our Halloween party… scythes, trivia books, costumes for the crew, goodie bags, and the all important Checks for the Bag Art and Costume contest.

Join us Monday at 9pm Eastern for a howlingly spooky night on Ice Island as the MOA gang brings to you a Halloween Spooktacular!

Be sure to bring your prepared Bag Art for judging and wear a spiffy costume!

Food and drink will be available for all!

The Return of Red Devil's Auction House
Posted October 14, 2005

From the Desk of Pratt

Greetings friends of the Great Lakes shard!

On the date of October 14th, Friday evening at 9 by the eastern sky, Red Devil's Auction tower will re-open its doors to the Felucca Facet in the hopes that this landmark house can once again be shared by all. RD's was the first auction house on this or any shard; he pioneered the event we now try to imitate across the realm, our respect to the man himself as we deign to try and pick up where he left off. An experienced team of auction persons is prepared to breath life back into these walls as players of Blue and Red alike gather to share stories of battle and bid on a few baubles. All are welcome to come enjoy the event so long as peace is kept and one behaves in a way that does not do harm to any other patron of the house. Of course this is Fel and we are advising all peoples to adhere by these guidelines:

Bring nothing with you that you don't want to insure or lose...

Be mindful of your surroundings and expect attacks and damage and probably death.

Bring nothing with you that you don't want to insure or lose...

Threats have been made against the staff and attendees of this event, be warned!

Bring nothing with you that you don't want to insure or lose...

Defenders will be in place to ensure you can enjoy the show if you so choose since this is a free world and you get to choose your own path.

Bring nothing with you that you don't want to insure or lose...

Respect the house, it is blessed and will be open for your pleasure. We have strict assurances our GM's will not tolerate any determined grief of this event, be warned!

Bring nothing with you that you don't want to insure or lose...

Come out to have fun, you may fight to your hearts content OUTSIDE OF THE HOUSE, or you can hang around and place your bids on some fine items.

Bring nothing with you that you don't want to insure or lose...

For those of you who recall the old days this was not your grandma's auction. Many challenges face us on this facet as they did back then. Together we CAN make this happen.

Bring nothing with you that you don't want to insure or lose...

Every other Friday to start RD's will open again until it is no longer needed but we are all betting this is just the first step to reliving the old glory days.

And finally ...

Bring nothing with you that you don't want to insure or lose...

You will very probably get killed, if you have nothing to lose nor insurance money for your attackers to gain then you are the best off.

Come one and all as we take a visit back to when times were simpler, when you had to watch your back as you pulled that iron towards town. A time when a man Named Red Devil decided that a barter event would benefit us all, and so it began.. And so we continue...

Rares and Oddities Abound
Posted August 16, 2005

From the Desk of Pratt

The summer winds were blowing in from across the sea; it lingered there so warm and fair. All summer long we sang a song and we strolled on golden sand, many friends and the summer wind.

With no contest to the Blue eyed master we all are going to miss the summer winds and the easy days as once again our time grows harder to come by and obligations grow by the day. Majestic Oaks is no exception to this rule as our lives get more stressed and the demand for staff grows stronger by the day. In honor of the upcoming demand we are going to bring out the rarest of items that have been awaiting your bids from the storerooms whose floors have never once been seen. No way we will see you back to school or work without some great surprises which will include the finest of GL oddities and rares, more fun and unusual events and the incorporation of the MOA felucca team. Thanks to the SLEM (Shady Luna Elite Mob) we have gathered some wise guys and gals to bring events to what some people call the dead lands, we do not agree and most of us own many houses on that facet. Watch for MOA events at the old RD's starting September 4th and continuing so long as you all wish, now be careful what you wish for you cannot cry no Fel events then come grief our newest attempts. Forgetting that for a minute and only for about that long (you will hear from the Fel events team in a week or so) lets show you what Trammel auctions has in store.

MOA

This week we are bringing you Shackles, A Wig, A Goblet of Wine (gold), A Saddle, A Spittoon, Playing Cards, Thin Hay, Potted Plants, Shattered Crystal Wisp Shard, Trees Plants, Runes, Crude Corroded Manacles, Great Armors and Weapons and so much more.

Whether you are with us every week or are now drawn by an item you wish to buy we hope you will at least find us in good cheer and offering an interesting distraction to your UO day. As always MOA would just be Pratt selling items to Nemo without their patrons and friends who make all this effort worthwhile and possible and we do not forget that. Thank you to all who have shown us kindness through the years and it is our hope and intention to continue bringing events to this shard so long as there is breath in our lungs. Peace be with you!

Bunny Bash on Lake Superior
Posted August 12, 2005

From the desk of Percival

Hello everyone, this is Percival of the MOA Lake Superior auction team. I have been elected (punished by Grigs actually) to the position of Events Coordinator for LS.

This month we were contacted by PETA (Papua's Evil Tamed Animals) about their overpopulation of Vorpal Bunnies. Being a guild committed to the preservation of the beautiful land of Britannia we of course agreed that these most evil of creatures MUST be destroyed! So we invite you, dear defenders, to help us take part in ridding the land of these foul demon spawns and their unnatural trammie blue color. We have gathered a dragon ship load of the Vorpal Bunnies favorite for, the green thorn, and will be luring them to a secret place where they will be trapped while you mighty warriors smash and bash them to little blue bits!

This Friday 8-12-05 at 7pm CST we will be gathering all those brave enough to face the monsters at the MOA auction house. At the auction house we will register everyone and gate them to the secret location. There are a few rules we have to abide by to appease PETA while killing the vermin. Only weapons will be allowed....no magery, pets, peacing or summoned creatures. There will also be no arties allowed. We have been informed that the neon blue in the vorpal bunnies can cause a catastrophic reaction if arties are used and Grigs doesn't want to take any chances. We will be giving rewards to the four weapon categories archery, fencing, swords and maces. Rewards will be given for the fastest times in each of the four categories.

We hope to see you there. Together we can make a difference!

A Royal Command Affects MOA This Week
Posted July 25, 2005

From the Desk of Pratt

Lady Dosa and Kelwyn walked through Lord British’s castle just taking in the tapestries and enjoying the noblemen scattering about. As they passed through the great hall Kelwyn noticed a parchment attached to the news post. "This Thursday we will hold a grand event for all to attend on the Great Lakes shard sponsored by your lord himself."
“Uh Oh” said Dosa "This will not make the Thursday team too happy to hear on their auction night!" and she cursed her luck at becoming messenger to this poor news.

Dosa had her own issues worrying for details that are involved with the Monday night castle event, but before she could think, Kelwyn had the gate to MOA main open and ready. Pratt and Scorp were already preparing the week’s event as they arrived and stopped long enough to listen to the news…

“ Damn them “ Pratt stated “ Don’t they know we have an auction to pull off, hand me some paper”.

Scorp reached into a chest and brought out the quill and parchment. Pratt scribbled furiously then affixed a wax seal and handed he missive to Dosa. “ Please deliver that to Lord British’s envoy at the castle for me before you go back to your business." Dosa curtsied and once again a blue gate stood before her as both women stepped through.

“ Unbelievable “ Scorp stated, “ I think they do this on purpose.” “ We shall see “ stated Pratt, “We shall see”.

Lord British sat up in his large bed to the breakfast feast that waited; two small eggs accompanied a slab of Boar meat and some cold goat milk. The servant moved forward at the King's bidding and removed covers form the delicacies and poured berry juice into a glass next to the milk. The serving girl also placed a gold dish with a parchment on the breakfast tray. “ Mail with breakfast aye?” But the girl did not answer except for a smile as she left the man to start his day of ruling the realms.

After an egg was gone whilst he chewed on some cheese bread Lord British opened the seal, one he recognized all too well, his lordship did not even groan as he saw what was coming….. "Dearest Lord British ….. Once again there is a royal event planned that conflicts with your servants here at Majestic Oaks, a lot of work has gone into this Thursday's auction as you thoughtlessly announce a conflicting gathering sponsored by your house. Many of your royal guard as well as more of the interior persons have been granted privilege of MOA services and we have asked for little in return save that we be given leeway on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday two hours to operate. The newest conflict makes us feel unappreciated as there are only 6 hours each week that we ask to be called our own and see it as small compensation for our service. We respectfully request you postpone that night’s event in light of this message and we are anticipating your agreement of this small request, awaiting your reply. Pratt Rinehart Majestic Oaks Manager In service to your lord!"

Choking down the last of the bread and swallowing the juice the monarch pushed the food tray aside for a new wood box that held paper and ink plus the royal wax seal and he began to write the following…. "Pratt, Your memory is short and your gratitude is fleeting as I can recall several festivals and celebrations that were rescheduled on your behalf and now that I have need to rally the people you write me with this drivel. You will be shown no courtesy this time as the needs of the community outweigh your little auction and I think it in your best interest not to take such liberties as interrupting my day (or my breakfast) with such things ever again. Find another night for your auction this week for Thursday is already spoken for; let it be known this is my wish and command to you this day. Your King, Lord British"

After a dollop of wax he blew shortly on the parchment before affixing his seal the lord included a small piece of the day's eggs as an added reminder for this person to mind his place.

A few moments later two armed guard bearing the royal crest arrived at MOA and handed a smelly parcel to the awaiting MOA staff, happy to be done with their seasoned burden the two guards bowed once and left. Pratt held the paper arms distance and wrinkled his nose at the smell, if it had not bore the royal insignia he would have placed it in the trash unopened. After getting past the breakfast sample he read the note to himself and turned to Scorp.

” Looks like we will have to move you to Tuesday this week pal at his highness' request”.

Scorp knew better then to ask for details as he opened chest to change sell dates and updated the public list accordingly as he grumbled under his breath. "Ok buddy don’t sweat it let's just pull out all the goodies we have been saving and give them something to think about"

...and that’s just what they did… This week at MOA we are holding a special Tuesday auction.. That’s right Tuesday to replace the usual Thursday show, look for us this Tuesday 7-26 and again on Wednesday 7-27. As always our start times will be 9 by the Eastern sky and gates are available all through the night for your favorite bank should you not already have a rune. The best of the best comes together as we pull out the big items and bring to you A Wig, Mummy Wrappings, A Ceramic Mug, Dragons Blood, An Inscribed Ring, An Open Book, True Rare Playing Cards, A Bloody Bandage, Sets of 10 Marties, Great Armor Pieces and soo much more. Quest for Compassion Complete!
Posted July 23, 2005

From the Desk of Ethereal

A good sized crowd gathered at the MOA auction house last evening, prepared to help Lash Valar with the first segment of his quest for the virtues. After a bit of good-natured joking around, a gate was opened to the Chamber of Virtues in Britain and everyone filed through to meet Valar, who had gone ahead to ask the monks there a few questions. Unfortunately, the monks seemed to be under a vow of silence, for no help was to be found with them.Valar greeted the crowd and thanked them for coming prior to going over the reasons for his quest. He needs to imbue articles with the essence of the virtues, so that these objects can become sigils for him to take back to his home world in an effort to reintroduce the virtues there.

The virtue we were to concentrate on that evening was Compassion, and the first order of the night was to determine a suitable object to become his sigil, and decide where to find this object. The object and the place of its finding would both need to be appropriate for the virtue, so Regina Phalange suggested we look in the dungeon Despise. All agreed to this proposal, and we decided to find the heart of a lizardman there.

Once we reached Despise, the group dispersed through the upper level, laying waste to many a lizardman. Toren of the Ring of Dragons was the first to return bearing the needed heart. Valar judged the heart suitable, but Guenivere had a backup in case the first should fail. All seemed to be going very smoothly, until Valar realized his apprentice, Amadan Bumailear, was missing. Unfortunately, Amadan was carrying the spell Valar needed to change the lizard's heart into the sigil of Compassion. We could not go on without him.

Tox mentioned that he saw Amadan leave the group eariler, when Despise was first mentioned. Valar thought for a moment, and then asked if there were any acid pools in the dungeon, as Amadan seemed to have a fixation with essence of acid back in the Lycaeum. Cetric, Octavian and Kagome all suggested we look on the lowest level, where they knew of an acid elemental lair. Tox was able to provide the group with a magical gate to the area.

Amadan was indeed at the acid pools, but imagine our surprise when he greeted us, not in his usual human form, but in that of a frog! Apparently in his eagerness, Amadan blundered into a mage who was just leaving the area, causing her to drop her bag of reagents. She must have had a short temper, and she cast the transformation spell on poor Amadan in anger. The spell Valar needed was still in his pocket, inaccessible as long as he remained a frog. Several in the party tried numerous spells to reverse the transformation; Jessie suggested kissing him to break the spell and Regina gave it a try, but all to no avail. It seemed apparent we would need to find the mage and plead with her to change him back. The only clue we had to her whereabouts was something Amadan had observed. So intent was she on her act of spite against Amadan, she failed to notice a band of ettins at her back. They grabbed her, and dragged her off to parts unknown. We were glad to have Tox in the party as he once again provided a solution, telling us of a cell the ettins have on the second level of the dungeon.

The group raced up the stairs and thundered through to the back of the dungeon, where sure enough there was a cell, and within it, a very angry mage. Amadan apologized to her as nicely as he could, and asked her to reverse the spell. Gormlaith haughtily refused to consider it unless we escorted her from the dungeon, and so that is what we did. It was a relief to emerge from the dankness of that place into the fresh air again! Everyone gathered around Gormlaith and Amadan to see what would happen. Severeal in the group seemed to prefer Amadan as a frog, and I must admit he did look rather cute that way, but the quest depended on his return to human form. Now that she was free, Gormlaith relented and agreed to reverse the spell. The newly restored Amadan handed the slime-covered spell to Valar, who unrolled it and started to read.

"The imbuing of the Sigil needs to take place at the Virtue's lair" he said. "The name of the place is blotted out in slime..."

Octavian suggested the Shrine of Compassion. We decided to walk there, which in retrospect was not such a good idea, as the group scattered badly on the way. Fortunately we were able to regroup once we hit the road, and it was an easy trip to the Shrine of Compassion from there. Everyone gathered around Valar as he stood before the altar.

"We need to purify the heart first" he said "for it was kept in the darkness of Despise."

Holding the heart aloft, he chanted the words "Rel Ylem Vas An Zu" A bolt of lightning struck the heart, startling many in the crowd. Next came the ritual to protect the heart from evil influence: "Kal Vas Sanct Wis", followed by another bolt of lighting. The imbuing itself followed: "In Rel Ort" Valar intoned "Kal Lor An Jux Ylem"

"Now we need to address the Shrine, so we can bind this heart to the virtue it will represent" explained Valar, as he turned to face the ankh. "MU MU" he chanted, holding the heart forward. A strange blue glow seemed to leap from the ankh and be absorbed by the heart! Valar turned again and held the new sigil high for all to see. "Thanks to you brave folks we made it!" he cried to the cheering crowd "The first virtue is done!"

Gormlaith seemed moved by the selfless show of compassion by the people of Britannia. As the cheers subsided, she made a little speech of thanks, and offered a reward to everyone. Amadan suggested we all go to the house he had prepared to hold the sigils as they are created, and we agreed that was a fitting place for Gormlaith to pass her rewards around. One last time the group filed through a magical gate, and into the virtue house on the other side. A table with symbols of the three prinicples stood in the midle of the room, with eight pedestals surrounding it. Valar placed the new sigil of Compassion on one of these, and we all admired it while Gormlaith moved through the crowd, passing out gold.

Valar thanked the crowd again, saying he hoped we would be willing to help him with the next virtue once he has done a bit more research. After the last of the happy but weary crowd has departed, I spoke a bit more with Valar. He says it is essential to have a good group of people on these quests, as the process depends on drawing energy from people engaged in the active demonstration of the virtue in question. I will certainly be there to help with the next one, and I hope many of you will join us, too!

Lash Valar Asks for Aid
Posted July 20, 2005

From the desk of Ethereal

Lash Valar scribbled a few final words in his notebook and pushed it away, satisfied. Stretching, he gazed around at the shelves of books that surrounded him at the Lycaeum, and sighed. The past few months had been busy indeed, but finally all his research had borne fruit. There was still a great deal of work to be done, but with any...
...A sudden movement in the doorway interrupted Valar's thoughts, and he turned in time to see the young apprentice Amadan Bumailear edging into the room carrying an overloaded tea tray. Amadan glanced nervously at Valar over the teetering crockery, caught his toe in the hem of his robe, and went crashing to the floor.

"uh...whoops..." said Amadean as he picked himself up. "I didn't mean to... well, uh... Mr. Valar, sir?"
"What is it, Amadan?" Valar sighed.
"I hear you are leaving the Lycaeum in the morning, sir, is that true?"
"Yes, it's true. I've learned all I can here, and I have much to do elsewhere." Valar replied.
"I was just wondering--well, I mean, you say you have a lot of work to do still, might you need a helper? A trusty sidekick, perhaps?"
"'Trusty sidekick'?" Valar tried the phrase in his mouth, finding it distasteful.
"Please Mr. Valar, sir. I can be of use to you, I know I can. I've helped you a bit already, haven't I? And, well..." Amadan fidgeted with his tea-sodden robe.
"Well? What is it, Amadan, spit it out!"
"It's just that, see, the scholars here say.... I have to leave, sir. They say I'm no u... that they can't teach me anymore. And I don't have anywhere to go. Please let me come with you."
Valar sighed heavily. "As it happens, I do need help. I need a lot of help. You can travel with me for a while at least, we'll see how it goes."
"Oh thank you, sir! I won't let you down, you'll see!" Amadan started to gather up the broken tea things. "I promise I'll try not to set any more accidental fires, sir. Or break things. Much."
"Fine, fine." Valar picked up his notebook. "Get some rest now. In the morning, I want to call on some people who helped me before. We leave at dawn."

****************************************************************************

As I was sorting through paybags at the MOA auction house yesterday morning, Valar and his new assistant walked in the door. I remembered Valar from a curious incident involving cows some time back, but had not spoken with him since the good people of our lands helped him with a translation of runic script. I am always eager to know more about a mystery, so I was quite happy to leave my work for a while and listen to what Valar had to say, and his story was interesting indeed!

MOA

Valar had said little of himself or his activities when we last met, but he has realized that if he wants the help of the people, he will have to tell us more of his story. This is what he told me, and asked that I pass it on to all of you.

Valar comes from another shard of the Gem of Immortality. Many years ago, around the time Lord British first disappeared, changes began to take place. A small group led by a wealthy landowner began to assert authority, and bands of dark mages and crusaders were sent on clandestine missions throughout the land. Little by little, the old ways were l ost. Crops failed everywhere, monsters became more aggressive and numerous. Former friends and neighbours grew mistrustful of each other, dissent brewing in every corner. Trade between towns gradually ceased altogether. Townsfolk were herded into barracks to live, virtually enslaved by the overlords. What became of the country-dwellers, no one is quite sure. Everywhere there was hatred, fear, and deceit. Eventually, the anti-virtues completely consumed the virtues, and the lands are now terribly corrupted.

Lash Valar belongs to a small resistance group who seek to right the terrible wrongs done to his world. The only way balance can be restored to his world, and the people given some hope again, is to restore the virtues, but it is impossible to restore something of which no shred remains. This is why Valar is here; to seek a way to bring the virtues from our land to his. And for this, he needs our help.

We call upon all honorable people of the land to join us as Valar attempts the first portion of his daunting task. We will gather at the MOA auction house on Friday, July 22nd at 9:00 p.m. EST. We hope to see many of you there!

The Amazing Cluckzilla!!!
Posted Friday, June 10, 2005

From the antlered head of Kelwyn

I took my new 10% physical resist chicken, aptly named Cluckzilla, to the Chicken Fight Club this past Saturday night. I admit I didn't expect to do well since Clucky had just bonded Friday afternoon and I hadn't had much time to train him. Luckily for me, there was another young'un there that night. "We actually stand a chance, Clucky!!" I whispered to my feathered fighter.

The first fight of the evening was between returning champ MotherClucker and WhippyChicII. Whippy won! You go girl! The next fight was between Cannibal Chicken and Big Red. Cannibal came from behind and won! Next up was my fight! I was really nervous but Cluckzilla was awesome and soundly beat AClucker. I was so proud!! The next round was Cannibal vs WhippyChicII... and Cannibal lived up to his name and fried Whippy! Next, Cluckzilla and I had to face a pro: Popeye's Chicken. Not surprisingly Poppy beat us with a quick one-two punch. That meant the main event was Cannibal vs Popeye and again Cannibal whupped some serious chicken booty!

The order of the day:

  • Cannibal Chicken - First Place,
  • Popeye's Chicken - Second place, and yes!
  • The Awesome Cluckzilla in third!
  • Ethereal Mare won the hotly contestd Nightmare fight!

Heart's Desire and Dgritz's were the sponsors this week. Quistis Zoate opted for "New Expansion" trivia. I was too slow on the keyboard to win any but it was fun anyway!

If you want to learn more about the Chicken Fight Club or have questions about how to train a chicken check out the Chicken Fight Club website. The folks there have been great about offering advice and answering questions. Even if you don't enter a chicken in the fights, come and watch! It's a blast to root for the winners (and try your hand at betting on the outcome!) I can assure you that Cluckzilla will be back next week! Maybe he'll beat some of the big bad chickens this time!!

Mayhem on Ice
Posted Tuesday, June 07, 2005

From the antlered head of Kelwyn

The first Monday of every month is Twisted Trivia with a Pursuit at the Majestic Madness Castle on Artic Isle. The first hour is Jeopardy-style trivia then a scavenger hunt follows. Whipple of T made the Chicken Fight Club proud by winning a whopping 85K in the first round of Trivia. Other big trivia winners included NoisyCricket, Doc Splinter, SynSlayer, Belisarias, and Evilyn. When contestants can't answer a question it is offered to the audience as well as special "end of the category" 50K questions that only the audience is allowed to answer. Again, NoisyCricket and Doc Splinter did well, as did Henry Zoate, Malice, Princess Tylee, Majestic and John. Every one had a blast although Whipple was disappointed that she didn't get to answer any of the "Finger-Lickin' Good" category - it was chicken trivia!

Next came the scavenger hunt! We're quite mad here you know, so we give wacky clues for fairly common items. The one considered the toughest was "You can't fly it if it's protecting you" referring to a kite shield! The other stumper was "Does the baby go in it?" We learned that babies seem to be put in all kinds of strange places!! NoisyCricket decided that he would throw the baby out with the bath water and brought us an empty tub! The most popular guess was a basket. The correct answer was a bascinet! Grendlyn threatened to call Child Protective Services on those who thought boxes, chests, closets?!?!?! and barrels were good for baby storage!!!

All clues and their answers were:

1) Why chop once when you can have twice the fun? (Double Axe)
2) Hair, butterfly or safety (Net)
3) Good 'ol fashioned Orange Drink (Cure Potion)
4) Can't fly it while it protects you (Kite Shield)
5) Does the baby go in it? (Bascinet)
6) Ze Mold, Ze Mildew (Zoogi Fungus)
7) Sounds like loot. (Lute)
8) Strew these in a bride's path (Orange or Purple Petals)
9) We all knead this! (Dough)
10) Earth Elemental droppings? (Fertile Dirt)
Doc Splinter was the first back with all ten items winning 250k followed by Bellisarious and Malice who won 150k and 75k respectively!!!!

Monday night was also a great night for generous donations. Deadpool (you know him - he buys out the auctions every Wednesday and Thursday night) stopped by before trivia began to drop off 1-million gp check for the Madness Crew to spend on our patrons. Doc Splinter explained that he was leaving UO soon and gave us a cool million and then donated back all the gold he won during the event! Doc we're going to miss your cheerful self and wish you well wherever you go from here! Henry Zoate also donated a million as well as his hard-earned prize money! Those CFC folks are a great bunch! We want to thank these kind and generous folks for helping us provide great prizes and gold to our patrons.

Be sure to come next Monday, June 13th at 8PM Central Time for Chests of Doom & Delight! Awesome prizes await as well as some boom booms for poor Vanna! (And remember, our patrons win gold every time Vanna dies! Hmmm... since we got all those great donations, it could be that Vanna will die lots more!)

Twisted Trivia Tonight!!!
Posted Monday, June 01, 2005

Tonight, Monday, June 6th, 8pm CST (9pm EST), the Mad Capped Lunatics will be dumping gold from the castle vault to the tune of Twisted Trivia with a Pursuit.

Twisted Trivia with a Pursit (TTwaP) is an ever changing game. Tonight, it will take on the form of Jeopardy with categories such as "It Takes a Thief " and questions like, "This skill lets the theif quietly sneak away." (Stealthing). Easy enough - yes?

There will be six different categories, each with 5 questions worth 5k, 10k, 15k, 20k, and 25k. Contestants will be selected randomly and based on trivia questions. If you answer a question correctly, you get the gold. If no one answers correctly, the question and gold go to the crowd.

... and speaking of the crowd, and... we were... upon the completion of each category, there will be a 50k question direct at the audience. Warning, these questions will be a wee bit tougher... for example: "Before AoS there were rare UberChickens. What was special about them?" (11% Physical resist)

Trivia will last one hour and then be followed by a Scavenger Hunt where we will look for 10 different items alluded to with clues such as "Hair, butterfly or safety." (in which case you would bring us a Net). You will have one hour to decode the clues and return to the castle with as many of the ten items that you can come up with. Prizes for Scavenger Hunt are: 250k for 1st place, 150k for 2nd, and 75k for 3rd.

This Week at MOA
Posted Wednesday, June 01, 2005

In the field south of Skara Brae a small silver disc flew overhead. The next moment, a chicken jumped into the air and caught it in her beak and floated back to earth for a landing before running it back to its owner. Kelwyn clapped excitedly as her pet once again showed her skill without much time in training. She would be a great bird and have a life outside of the Chicken Fight Club (CFC).

Justin, Dosa and Keeper all sat around a multi-colored sheet atop which sat a feast fit for a king, or maybe the MOA Majestic Madness crew. Grendlyn made sure her staff was treated right on their week off. Memorial day, while its meaning had no bearing on their events, was a welcome break from the mundane. The guest list was far from complete as the early risers set the stage and awaited the rest of their MOA family - the food however was not waiting as Keeper reached for his third ear of corn, butter running down his arm. Dosa shot him a fun loving look as she herself had her eye on a second piece of pie that oddly enough Blessed Industry had made and sent over for them to enjoy. Something did not seem right about that but what a pie it was. Justin agreed happily as he munched on his slice while laying on the grass trying to form cloud shapes in the sky.

After her second piece, Dosa found all the colors of the rainbow swirling around her. She barely recognized the newcomer who was somehow familiar as she was transfixed by the green in the grass all around. Nemo stepped over the blanket of food giving both of them a strange look - by this time Justin was playing with an ant running up and down his arm. It was clear they were both intoxicated in some way.

Then it was like the carriage had arrived as the other members of MOA arrived, Pratt, Soul, Ethereal, DJ Scorp, Emerald, Ophelia, Flagg, Natasha, N Muntz and more. All except Blessed - who they all knew was sleeping one off. What they did not know was the cause of his inebriation was the sister pie of the one they now enjoyed. It was Emerald who sniffed out the berry pie as one made from the Juku berries, whose known medicinal components used mostly to relieve pain and or induced sleep during hard times. The party laughed as Dosa was now snoring and clearly Justin was not far behind as he stared blankly directly into the sun, this party had gotten off to a good start.

After much food and merriment, Grendlyn raised her glass and proposed a toast to Memorial Week Vacation. Before her glass was above her shoulders, Pratt held up his hand in objection.

"Who said we had the week off?"
Everyone looked around for the right answer as to the fate for this week's auction. No one would go against the ringleader it seemed as all eyes closed or fell to the blanket on which they all sat.
"Oh... Ok", Grendlyn said. "Well then, a toast to the wacky Monday crew picnic and to the good success of this weeks auctions."
and to that they drank.

DJ Scorp stood and spoke,

"As much as we would love to give you all the week off, there is no way the items we are holding for sale this week can wait any longer." The Thursday manager continued, "More true rares have not been seen for quite some time and not for some time after this either! Just look at what we have for you all this week!"
Just as he began to read the list a crazy chicken ran and half flew over their blanket once again chasing that damned discuss... leaving droppings on Gren's head...

  • A Four Headed Skull Candle (Mega Rare),
  • Old Event Shoes that read, "I Ran the Hythloth Gauntlet... and Died",
  • A True Rare Skinned Deer (before the copies),
  • A Purple Bottle (one time spawn now Mega Rare),
  • Half a Dozen Rare and White Statues,

  • Quest Book,
  • Dryad's Bow,
  • A Full Set of Nets,
