The 20 Million Gold Campout
Posted Thursday, February 19, 2004

Imagine a house full of gold and rare items just waiting to collapse at an approximated date and time. You can be a part of it! Some are campers and enjoy going out in search of houses that will fall to enrich their bank accounts, some want to camp because we all wish to be rich but lack either the time or incentive to search for a target. A house IDOC (In Danger of Collapse), the final stage of decay for a house that is ownerless or condemned to fall, but this one will be a disclosed location. Not only will you know where but you will also know about when and what to expect the looting to be like before you stand out there all day and wait for the collapse. Any building that reaches this condition will most certainly fall in about 18 hours, the difficulty in gauging he exact time is what makes this a fun and popular spot to hang around into he last few hours.

This weekend, Saturday, February 21 or Sunday, February 22nd, a small tower, just outside of Minoc on Trammel WILL FALL! The sponsors of this free for fun event have made sure the reward is comfortably in the neighborhood of 20 Million Gold in order to share their good fortune and bring some fun to the shard.

High Drama Vendor House in Luna
Lady Lava and Lord Kuan Ti, owners of the establishment High Drama, located inside Luna, have teamed up with the misfits that run Majestic Oaks Auctions (3 events weekly) to come up with this IDOC Treasure House for your looting pleasure.

At some point this Saturday or Sunday (our experts best guesses - there is no definite time/date we can give) the Treasure house will fall in such a location that all will be able to loot to their hearts (and pockets content). Runes at Majestic Oaks and High Drama will take you directly to the house and both staffs will be gating there for the next few days. Starting Saturday evening there will be random trivia events, food and drink will be passed out for those die hard campers and we will just basically have a few laughs. Then, at the magic time, the house will come crumbling down revealing its secret riches for all to enjoy, you must be there to claim the goodies so check the house often for its stages of decay. The stages of house decay are Like New, Slightly Worn, Somewhat Worn, Fairly Worn, Greatly Worn, and In Danger Of Collapse, which lasts approximately 18 hours. So once she is in IDOC you can pretty much get a close feel for when it will come down, be there to share in the rewards of a little camping trip.

Majestic Oaks Auction House
This event is brought to you in order to bring life to our shard and share our good fortunes with our friends of Great Lakes and heaven forbid, have a little fun in the process. Lady Lava and Master Kuan Ti Owners of High Drama Vendor house in Malas Luna have gotten together with the Majestic Oaks auction team to bring you this first ever house falling event. First time events are not uncommon to either group, MOA runs auctions every Wednesday and Thursday at 9 eastern for 2 full hours and holds a major event every Monday at the same time. Lava and Kuan are a walking event and their contribution of High Drama to the shard is just further proof of that, always a surprise with those two and always done with style.

Ok enough said, go to Majestic Oaks Main House, Castle or High Drama’s Luna location for a rune to this event, look for gates through the rest of the week or contact one of the sponsors.

Don’t forget to visit the benefactors and express your opinions! Kuan and Lava can be found at High Drama or some other public event! The Majestic Oaks Guys and Gals can be found at the auction house or at www.uo-moa.net.

Special thanks to all who have helped to get this event off the ground and for those who will help by posting this advertising! You too Ross!! ; P

Majestic Oaks Vegas On Ice Night!
Posted Sunday, February 15, 2004

The green tables had been laid out and the flowers stashed away though their scent wafted through the air, reminiscent of the interesting (possibly amorous?) weekend that had just passed. The castle hall was vaguely warm, and a deck of cards and dice were lying on a table, seemingly abandoned in the middle of a game...

The front doors groaned open, and Justin and Kelwyn walked in, holding ice chunks to his left eye and her right fist.

"Hit me is an expression, Kel... you didn’t actually have to punch me, ya know..." Justin groaned.

"Well, you didn’t tell me that! And why do you have to have such a hard noggin’? Bonehead..." Kelwyn retorted.

And so, the preparation for Majestic Madness’ Vegas on Ice has been underway as the MOA Staff works through blood (a lot of that), sweat, and tears. Gates will be available from a host of Trammel banks, including the ever popular West Brit! Come and take a chance with your gold with various (in?) famous dealers such as Pratt, Soul Blighter, and Aria! The profit goes into prizes for our other fun Majestic Madness nights, such as "Let’s Make a Deal" and the recently named, "Chests of Doom and Delight!"

Don’t forget, the Progressive Lotto rolled over from last week, so keep buying tickets, because we may have a lucky winner this week!

So, if you’re feelin’ lucky, and Doom is packed, spend a quality evening with the folks of MOA. The games start roughly at 9pm by the eastern skies and will be held at the Ice Castle. Hope to see you there!

It's Majestic Madness!!!
Posted Tuesday, February 10, 2004

Majestic Oaks Auction House got more than they bargained for with the Name that Game contest!!! Not only did Yellowbelly provide the winning name of "Chests of Doom & Delight" (D&D for short) for the nameless game but from here on out, thanks to Kenshin, the MOA Monday Night castle events shall be called "Majestic Madness!!!"

The Valentine's day edition of Chests of Doom & Delight (I just love that name!) saw many big winners... Chase left with a Clothing Bless deed, while Righteous walked away with a Doom Collection, Charissa got Doom Frequent Flyer Miles with 5 Golden Skulls, DaNk GrEeN BuD got hooked up with something green... okay... so it was an Emerald Fishing Net. I'm not really sure who the big winners were... possibly Lord of the Dead with his Lamppost but probably Yellowbelly as he went home with 6 110 powerscrolls (sword, parry, anatomy, healing, chivalry & focus) and a 150k check for the name! The big loser? er... that would be Vanna who learned it is best to check for traps before opening chests!

Last week's lottery hit at 450k, so this week, it began anew. Tonight's winning number was SSASSSSS with SSASSSSA being second. Unfortunately for ticket holders, no one was holding those tickets... well... the vendor was but he can't play! The good news is, no winner this week means the cash pot will increase and your tickets are still good... so hang on to them! For those of you with no tickets, they cost 10k apiece for a chance at a minimum of 250k. As this is a progressive lotto - the cash prize grows as tickets sell, the final prize could grow as high as 1 Million!

Next week, we offer games of chance to our patrons with "Vegas on Ice", aka Casino Night! Try your luck at darts or slots... unless the magic dice or coin are more your style! Whatever your game, please join us every Monday night, 8pm CST, at the MOA Vendor Mall Castle on Ice Island for Majestic Madness!!!

Name that Game & Lottery at MOA!!!
Posted Saturday, February 07, 2004

As you may remember, we are running a "Name that Game" contest to name the game that we will be playing this Monday Night at the MOA Castle on Ice Island, at 8pm CST.

The game is thus: 24 chests with mystery contents (such as a lamppost, doom collection, powerscrolls). Three of these chests will be tinker trapped. A player picks a chest. Vanna opens to reveal contents. The player can either keep his prize and sit down or trade his prize for one of the prizes that were opened before his/hers. As you can see, it is advantageous to be the last person chosen to play as you then have your pick of all the prizes. If a player happens to select a chest that is trapped, they will be awarded 15k. If Vanna dies from opening the chest, they will get a 10k bonus on top of the 15k.

So please come out, play our game with us, and cast your vote (we have ballot boxes) for one of the following finalists:
- Chests of Doom & Delight
- Game of Give & Take
- Lagniappe
- Mix & Match
- Coming Poor, Leaving Rich

On another note, the Progressive MOA Lottery begins again this week as there was a winner last week (Ricktor Lobo won 420k). However, the 2nd place winner, with book number AAASSSAS is still at large. Tickets cost 10k apiece. First prize starts at 250k and can increase depending on the number of tickets sold. If there is no winner this week, hang on to your tickets as the lottery will roll over to next week with the pot increasing! Remember, you do not need to be present to win the MOA Lottery as we will post the winning number on Stratics and our own website if the winner is not present.

Special Note: Majestic Oaks does make money on the MOA Lottery. That money is used to purchase prizes to be given to our patrons during our other giveaway events and to sponsor special events for players on the Great Lakes Shard.

Monday’s Twisted Trivia with a Pursuit
Posted Friday, January 30, 2004

The brown robed scribe flipped through a few pages of a musty manuscript, muttering the words to himself as he read. Lyaceum seemed to be getting a lot of research business from an odd fellow in a feathered hat who constantly wanted to know the history of Sosaria.

Just then, Justin Pierceson burst into the hall, blaring loudly, "WAIT! I’ve got it" let’s ask a question about Jeff the Lich!"

"Hmm" I think those are gettin’ kind of old, Just" maybe you should leave your imaginary friend behind?" Grendlyn said, shaking her head.

The scribe handed Justin a few scrolls with various scribblings on them in exchange for a pouch of gold, and thus the trivia questions were created"

Now that MOA’s secret source of trivia knowledge is out, come out to this Monday’s Twisted Trivia with a Pursuit at 9pm est! Held at the scenic Ice Castle, gates will be available from Brit and various banks start 15 minutes before the event. Love of knowledge will be in the air; and a little prize money for last minute Valentine’s Day gifts. On top of it, the ever-popular Scavenger Hunt will take place afterward! Overall, nearly 2,000,000 gold will be given away, and everyone has a chance! Hit the books, expand the mind, and come ready to win!

Don’t forget, the Lottery from last week is still going on, and the Progressive pot has grown to a total of 420k for the grand prize, and 42k for second place! Be sure to buy a ticket today!

Majestic Oaks Presents... Let's Make A Deal -- The Holiday Version!!!
Posted Friday, December 19, 2003

Grendlyn was humming a merry tune as she filled boxes and bags with prizes for this Monday’s Let’s Make A Deal at the MOA Mall on Artic Isle.

“Nothing can go wrong this week. No problems, no hassles, Nothing!!! We’ve got Let’s Make a Deal down pat!!! We’ve got some awesome prizes and some funny booby prizes and our wonderful patrons will love it!”

Suddenly, Kelwyn ran in, her deer mask askew. “Grendie! We’ve got problems! Big problems! HUGE!!”

Grendlyn turned to Kelwyn with a look of fear and dread. “What is it?” she gasped.

“Monty Hall sent us a telegram…
     ‘Taking winter vacation. STOP.
Vanna White is with me. STOP.
We’ll be back next month for Let’s Make A Deal. STOP.’

Grendie… What in the name of Christmas are we gonna do???”

Just then, Santa Claus, the Big Guy himself came sauntering in and paused, “My, my Gren, you are looking pale. And Kelwyn!! You look like a deer caught in the headlights! What’s wrong?” Kelwyn handed Santa the telegram… a grin surfaced on his jolly face as he read… “Never fear, Santa is here!!!”

Please join us for Let’s Make a Deal – The Holiday Version!!!

Subbing for Monty Hall will be Hermey the Misfit Elf. As you may remember, Hermey wanted to be a dentist. Bored with cleaning Elvish teeth, Herms will try his hand as Game Show Host with Blitzen, the Drunken Reindeer assisting. Filling in for Vanna White will be none other than the Mean One himself… Mr. Grinch!

For a fun filled evening, with plenty of Mirth, Mayhem, and Merriment with a prize or two on the side, pack your pack with various odds and ends and take the nearest gate to the MOA Castle on Artic Isle, Monday, December 22 at 8:00pm CST.

Impersonation Scam
Posted Wednesday, December 17, 2003

MOA has become aware of a scam involving the use of MOA Impersonators. These scammers will offer to purchase high end artifacts from other players and then insist on using an MOA broker due to trust issues. The scammers then have a friend impersonate an MOA broker. After the MOA impersonator collects the gold from the buyer and the item from the seller, the impersonator recalls away, appearing to have left both the buyer and seller as victims.

The following players, Sabin, Miner, kud, and jaclyn are known to have perpetrated this scam. This ICQ#, 262088950, has been used in the scam. The following MOA persons, Aria, Stee Jans, and Tasha, have been impersonated.

When conducting any type deal using an MOA broker, verify the MOA broker's identity via icq before doing the deal. All MOA ICQ numbers are publically posted for this purpose. If the MOA Broker tells you his ICQ number changed and the website has not been updated yet, please, do not believe him and contact a different MOA Broker.

All MOA Brokers will have MOA above their head. If a broker tells you he/she lost their guild title for whatever reason, please, do not believe him and contact a different MOA Broker.

Just another Manic Monday at MOA
Posted Sunday, December 14, 2003

Grendlyn sighed and looked at Tasha. "Ok, I'm getting tired of waiting. Didn't DJ say he'd meet us here at the auction house?" she asked. "That's what he told me, about four times!" replied Tasha. "Well then wh... wait! did you hear that?" Grendlyn held up a finger and listened. "There it is again!" "Sounds like a muffled groan coming from the storage room!" Tasha exclaimed. The two raced over to the storage room, only to see a mountain of items piled to the door, with what looked like a hand and part of someone's head sticking out of the middle. "It's DJ!"cried Grendlyn "He's trapped!" Just then Pratt walked in and came over to see what the commotion was all about. Spying DJ's head, he chuckled "Buried in your work again, DJ?" "It's not funny, Pratt." said Tasha "we have to get him out of there." "Well, there's no place to put all that stuff." Pratt replied. "There's only one thing we can do. We'll have to sell it all, the sooner, the better! Send out a notice."

This Monday Dec. 15th, Majestic Oaks is holding a special auction in place of our regular Monday Night at the Castle! The sale will be held at the regular auction house near the Buc's Den portal in Trammel. Come help free DJ from under a mountain of goods such as reward statues, ethereals, plants, various rares and weapons; rugs, coal ore, and tapestries; thousands of colored ingots, runic hammers, a 115 magic resist power scroll and a helm of insight plus much, much more! The auction will start at 9 p.m. Eastern with gates from major banks starting 15 minutes prior to the sale.

And dont forget all this week Majestic Oaks and Santa Claus will be celebrating the upcoming holiday with fine gifts and good cheer! The auction house will be closed the week of Christmas and New Years so get you items in for this week early!

Casino MOA Rocks!!!
Posted Monday, December 03, 2003

It was a cold, dark and stormy night, but at MOA Mall Castle on Artic Isle it was HOT! At least the dice were, that is! Great Lakes citizens gambled to their hearts delight on games of chance like Mondain’s Revenge, High/Low/Seven, Roulette, and Dice! Kain and Ross won 60K each on Roulette while Gallen snagged 35k. Kain went on to win 50K at Dice, and multiple winners were seen walking away from Mondain’s Coin.

Along with the winners, there were losers. In fact, one poor fellow was found out in the snow in his undies stating he’d lost his clothes inside, but had a great time doing so!

Dealers were Justin, Silver, Ethereal, and Kelwyn with Kamin serving as Pitt Boss. Casino MOA will be back each month along with other new and exciting events!!! So stay tuned and check out our website for even more news!

MOA Presents Casino Night!!!
Posted Monday, November 30, 2003

... the day after Monday Night at the Castle...

Justin and Kelwyn walk in to find Kamin sitting at the table... an abacus at his fingers and a grimace on his face...

Kamin: Do you guys realize we gave away over a million in prizes last night!?!?! I mean... who's bright idea was it to stick rare, pre-AoS rocks in with a brazier, skull candle, and other goodies and call it a Doom Collection?!?!?
Kelwyn: Er... I believe that was YOUR blunder!!! It was supposed to be two separate prizes. YOU put them together!!!
Kamin: Oh... well never mind... and who was responsible for putting these items in as prizes: a skinned goat, a lamppost, an ASH, a bear skin rug, blaze sandies... should I read on??? What?!?!?! Do you think money grows on trees???
Justin: But we had soooooo much fun and the patrons LOVED it Kamin!!! Come on!!! It was well worth it!!!
Kamin: Uh... er... yeah... well... good point but guys... last week, we gave away over 2 Million dollars during Twisted Trivia with a Pursuit! If we keep going at this rate, we'll be giving away 6 Million gold per month!!! Not only can we not afford it but Pratt will have our heads if we continue!!!
Kelwyn: Not if we raise the money ourselves...
Kamin: And how do you propose we do that?!?!? Kill monsters???
Justin: I could play my lute at the tavern
Kelwyn: And I could read my poetry...
Justin: or...

Justin whispers something to Kelwyn

Justin and Kelwyn: We could have a Casino Night!!!

And there you have it!!! Monday Nights at the Castle is proud to present Casino Night - MOA Style!!! This Monday, December 01, at 8:00pm CST, the MOA Vendor Mall Castle will be turned into a Casino the likes of which, only MOA could do... okay so other people have done it but that is besides the point. We will have dice and coins and slots and roulette so come on down and try your luck!!! Gates will be provided at major Trammel Banks (W. Brit is a sure bet) 15 minutes before the event and on and off throughout the night.

Special Note: All proceeds from this event will go to the MOA Monday Nights at the Castle giveaway event fund. No proceeds will be used for any other purpose. As with any gaming event, the odds will always favor the house. It is expected that some of you will win money and many of you will lose money... but don't let that scare you!!! Will you be one of the lucky ones? You will never know unless you try!!!

MOA will have new and exciting events every Monday at the Castle. So stay tuned and check out our website for even more news!

Let’s Make a Deal Pays BIG!!!
Posted Monday, November 30, 2003

Monty Hall, assisted by Vanna White and the able MOA crew, wheeled and dealed with several Great Lakes residents Monday night. MOA patrons played a variety of wacky games with Monty including White Elephant Swap where other contestants could choose another winner’s prize instead of their own. Prizes were swapped back and forth, but everyone ended up happy! Another wild game was Poison Apple where the contestant chose a chest with a poison potion (Poison, Greater or Deadly) in it and Kelwyn had to drink! Starting with 25K Monty deducted 200 gold for every hit point Kelwyn had left with a 25K bonus if she died! Kel got down to 6 health points so the lucky winner, Lucia, would’ve gotten 23,800 gold but traded for mystery bag — inside? Full kegs of each kind of potion! “Clash of the Titans” got the crowd worked up as Lady Dragon Desyre chose Vanna to be her champion against Roland’s Monty Hall. Vanna slew Monty in a matter of moments! Both the contestan! ts opted to trade their cash prizes for mystery prizes. Lady Dragon won blaze reward sandals and Roland took home a bag of rare colored seeds with bag of sending, pet ball, powder, zoogis and assorted plant resources.

Mavar scored big with darts but happily traded gold for a mystery box containing a Doom collection of skull candle, rocks, bottle, brazier, and books. Grigory was shown a chest full of fish steaks and was offered up to 15 gold per steak or the what’s in the box Vanna just brought out. The crowd offered many opinions but Grigory chose the box and won… furniture recovered from a shipwreck... oh, and a few fish! Had he taken the money he would’ve won 54k gold! Grigory was very sporting about it declaring he could use a shipwrecked stool and broken clock! Hamilee produced a rolling pin when Monty asked for it and chose the mystery pouch over the check in Monty’s pocket and won some shipwreck loot including a rare scarlet fishing net!

Mavar was happy with the Doom collection he won and refused to give it up while Hamilee and Shadow were willing to trade the red net and Blue Reward Sandies for a chance at the Big Deal where the prizes were a Lamppost, a brown bear skin rug and an ASH hammer!

All and all it was a wonderful night of merriment and games!

Next Monday night grab your cash and come on down! It’s Casino Night at the Castle! A variety of games of chance will be available with jackpots just waiting to be won! That’s December 1st at 8PM CST at the MOA Mall Castle on Artic Isle. Gates will be available from several Trammel banks.

Trivia with a Pursuit Pays Over 2 Million Gold to MOA Patrons!!!
Posted Tuesday, November 18, 2003

Trivia with a Pursuit provided several attendees with 10 and 20K checks as well as lots of laughter and fun! Grigory was the second person in Monday Night Trivia history to answer the 500K question and he wasn’t the last one either! Wundermutt and Marlene also won 500K by answering some really tough questions!

Trivia got twisted a bit with MOA Algebra questions such as, “Justin has 92 hit points. Kamin has 92 magery with 0 eval. How many energy bolts will it take for Kamin to kill Justin?” (The answer was 9!) Special effects were in use too as patrons watched with delight as showers of fireworks erupted when Box #1 was opened to reveal… a healing potion! What? That’s right… now how do you make one? No help from the alchemists in the audience please! We also learned that you can be GM x a lot and a Dread Lady too boot and still not be able to do diddly in the kitchen as Marlene struggled with guessing the ingredients of Aria’s birthday cake but breezed through the really tough 500K question!

After Trivia, patrons raced to complete the Scavenger Hunt! Hunters had to find the following ten items: beeswax, recall rune, roast pig, orc helm, savage spear, a bottle of Grizelda’s Extra Strength Hangover Cure, a purple fish, a turnip, any slayer musical instrument and a picture of a mongbat from the Elwood quest. Lady Storm was the first to come back with all ten items and won 250K. Not bad for a half hour’s work! Next came Savannah to win 100K for her ten items. Third place prize of 50K for all items went to Cuthbert Allgood.

All in all… it was a great night!!! Keep watching here and at www.uo-moa.net for more information on Monday Nights at the Castle! We have lots of great events planned and lots more money to give away!!

Majestic Oaks Will Offer 1 Million Gold to a Lucky Visitor Tonight!!!
Posted Monday, November 10, 2003

Greetings Friends and Patrons of Majestic Oaks,

As you know, Majestic Oaks runs auctions Wednesday and Thursday from the main house and on Monday we have reopened the castle on Ice island that has served you all for so long. It has come to my attention that our friends are becoming disheartened at the number of auctions each week and have requested MOA address this issue at the risk of flooding the market and losing its uniqueness. In response to these concerns, I am suggesting steps be taken to back off on the community a little and keep our auctions something fun and exciting. The last thing we want is a shard full of people who are saying "Oh God not another auction tonight!! they just had one".

It's important that you all know MOA is taking in almost 200 items a week to be sold off for your pleasure and this is why you now have 3 auctions. In order to back down a bit we will have refined the list of accepted items and are stepping up the pace on the other two auction nights. Since Wednesday and Thursday are our signature evenings, those auctions will remain. However, tonight, Monday, November 10th, will be the last official auction from the castle in MOA format. From this day forward the Monday night event will change weekly to accommodate Casino Nights, Lets Make A Deal, UO Trivia Nights, BOD Trading/Auctioning nights and a few other things we are not ready to disclose.

The MOA team which is now 23 people strong, will not decrease in size. As a matter of fact, we are growing still - just trying not to bore you all with the same old thing three nights a week.

You'll need to watch Stratics, the MOA website and other sites for which Monday night event to expect each week. Also expect to see an announcement shortly as MOA will be expanding to another shard starting next month! In order to keep you all on the edge of your seat I won't say which shard till after Thanksgiving but it's already in the works and the Majestic Oaks Great Lakes team will be fully staffing this auction!!! We expect great things to come from this.

As I write this, the events team is planning the first Castle night event for November 17th as to not miss a beat or let a week go by without a Monday event. In honor of tonight's Castle event, we will be offering a Holy Knights Breastplate, A Wig, some Great Bods, Tree Ornament Jewelry, Colored Anvils, Nets, Sandals, Plants, Trees, Statues, and more then a few surprises. By night's end, the Castle sign will announce 85 THOUSAND visits and One Million in gold will be awarded to the visitor who sets off that number!

Cheers!

On a small island in the middle of nowhere, a few yellow and green figures finished a cleanup that had been supervised by Royal Guards in an effort to "Clean up Britannia" (oh gods not again ;P). The staff of Majestic Oaks Auction recovered just barely from this weekend's festivities on this floating forest and are now getting ready to bring you some auctions!

This Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 9pm Eastern as in every other week the Majestic Oaks Auction team will bring you 160 plus items auction style. Gates are always from W.Brit all through the night and runes can be found at your favorite vendor shops like "Purple's" in Luna. The two hour event always hold the most exciting items for sale combined with gold giveaways and games of chance by nights end. If you have an item to sell, the staff is always on call to meet you and to accept your submission or answer any questions you may have.

This week, you can look forward to Blood Tiles, Runebook and Statue Dye Tubs, Coal Armor sets and Pieces, Colored Anvils, Banners and Heads, Ankhs, Ethereals, Statues, Cocoons, Plants Trees, Ship Models and many Runic Hammers and Kits.

For a full list and the main auction forums for your use visit them at MOA Home Page

Hauntings on Spooky Island - An MOA / THB Event
Posted October 29, 2003

Clouds shadowed the sky and wind howled among the trees in the darkening forest as the ancient sorcerer hobbled off the boat. Leaning on his staff for support, he looked around at the tangled undergrowth with distaste before turning to his companions.

"Are you certain this is the best place?" he demanded. "It must be absolutely secure! Even with my power and talents it may be years before I can return."

The two young pirates glanced at each other before answering. "Aye m'lord, indeed. Jes' look around ye. This 'ere place is crawling with 'gators an' serpents, an' uvver nasty critters. Ain't no one comes 'ere, there be naught to come for. Your treasures will be safe 'ere." answered the first. "From all but us." the second sniggered under his breath.

The old sorcerer looked around again, grumbling and nodding. "Get to it then!" he snapped. "And split it up! There is too much to risk all in one place. I want four -- no, five piles made -- and buried in separate locations!"

And so began the laborious process of digging and hauling trunkloads of gems, gold and magical items from the boat and burying them deep in the ground. Sweat poured from the brows of the two pirates despite the chilly air, their eyes gleaming with lust as they handled the valuables collected by the sorcerer during his long life. At last the job was finished.

"Maps!" barked the sorcerer "I need maps to mark these places. Make them impossible to read!"

As the pirates drew their devious maps, the sorcerer set spells upon each mound of earth, designed to call forth the most terrible of monsters should any but he disturb the soil there. At long last, the moons now setting and dawn but an hour away, everything was in place. The sorcerer stretched out his hand for the maps, and fixed the two men with a piercing gaze.

"There is but one thing left to do" he said coldly. "There are guardians now, to kill any who dare to dig my treasure up, but that is not enough. I shall set some more guardians here, to attack even those who dare set foot on the island. And they shall begin with you."

Too late, the young men realized their folly and ran for the boat, only to see it engulfed in magical flames. The sorcerer waved his staff and chanted, bringing dragons and wyverns to life. He watched briefly as the beasts set to their grisly work, then, with a simple chant and flash of light, he was gone - taking his maps with him.

Those maps have now been found.

What: An event for Halloween hosted by Majestic Oak Auctions and the Treasure Hunters of Britannia. We will be digging up five level 5 maps simultaneously and invite you to take part in defeating the guardian spawn. There will be additional monsters on the island as well, some native and some not. Be advised that this event carries a heavy risk of participants dying!

In addition to all the monster loot and that from the treasure chests, which all goes to those who take part, we will also have a few prizes to hand out at the end of the day. - There will be pumpkins scattered about the island: one prize will go to the person who collects the most pumpkins - Death will no doubt visit us many times during the evening: one prize will go to the person who meets the grim reaper the most often (save your death robes, please)

When: Saturday November 1st, 8:00 p.m. CST, 9:00 p.m. EST

Who: The intent of this event is to provide a fun and challenging monster bash. In light of this, we respectfully ask that no fighting pets be brought along. All other classes welcome and encouraged.

Where: We will meet at the MOA auction house and gate to the island from there. Our destination is the small island East of Buccaneer's Den. Gates will be provided from the major banks to MOA 15 minutes prior to event start time. At the end of the treasure hunt, we will all move to a more congenial environment for handing out prizes and perhaps some storytelling.

We hope to see you there!
