Majestic Oaks Weekly
Posted Wednesday, February 23, 2005

Good day to you all and yes this is just another reminder of what we have to offer the GL community for the week MOA style. But maybe it's a bit more. The reason we take time to send the weekly reminders is so that you may more easily access the items, auctions and events we have to offer. Yes, it is true that not everyone cares to attend the auction or any of the other weekly fun filled events that MOA has to offer but we are thankful for those who do! So in the spirit of furthering the cause, allow us to share with you the list of great items that will hit the auction block this Wednesday and Thursday at 9 Eastern ....

  • A Piece of Chocolate (ok girls diamonds are great but chocolate says love!),
  • Blinding White Wyrm Bones,
  • Serpents Fang,
  • Dragon Slayer,
  • Coal Armor GM Pieces,
  • Plus 20 Stat Scrolls and
  • much much more .

As always, gates are provided throughout the evening... oh and... if you happen to see a ghost with MOA above its head over at West Brit Bank, toss 'em a rez please. Seems like our gaters have been working in ghost form again...

A full list of contacts and items can be found here at www.uo-moa.net.

Thanks,

Fees Free February... Take Two ....

As the weeks mid point draws closer, the Majestic Oaks Team readies the house for yet again another tri of weekly events.

As the second week of no fees is upon us, the coffers were quite bare as Soul went into the vault to withdraw this weeks gold sums for giveaways and expenses. Finding himself just a bit short, he turned his sights on the next vault over which was owned by Lady Ethereal herself. It too was barren and he knew better then to look inside his own chest as it too would yield nothing. That left only one choice, the last vault on the end and the most unused was that of DJ Scorpion. It was the hope of the MOA treasurer that Scorp had been more frugal then the rest with his earnings throughout the years.

The inside was definitely not empty and amongst a few gold coins and gems were found over 100 bank notes stacked neatly in one corner. Before Soul could get excited he noticed the color of IOU's, having seen and possessed many of those through his lifetime the fact that this would be a debtors nightmare was simple enough. So back to his own bank to withdraw enough to continue on another week and he would certainly tap Pratt for next months prizes he thought while preparing the auction room for the upcoming week.

We are of course not actually so broke but I thought you might enjoy that little story that has its share of truth intertwined instead of just coming out and hawking another auction week. The fact does remain though that the point must be made so here I go ...

Majestic Oaks Auctions presents to Great Lakes no less then Three weekly events that include two full auctions and a castle event on Monday nights.

On Monday you can find such events as Lets Make a Deal, Chests of Doom and Delight, Majestic Casino Night and a few other innovative shows. Wednesday and Thursday are always auctions from 9pm Eastern and running two hours each night no matter how many in game events the makers throw at us ;p

Some of the finer items this week are going to be a Origins Shard Placed Keep!!!

After this fine home is awarded you can also look forward to some Blood Tiles, Potted Trees, A Saddle, Rewards Robe and Cloaks, Stat Scrolls and whatever else they can think to add after I write this.

Thanks as always for taking 5 minutes to read about upcoming events. We look forward to seeing you all at least one event a week (heck who are we kidding come to two).

For more information or to submit a question or auction an item, you can always find one of us at our website!

Thanks!

auld lang syne

Pronunciation: (ôld' lang z§in', s§in'),

Scot. and North Eng.
1. old times, esp. times fondly remembered.

2. old or long friendship.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And auld lang syne.

And surely ye'll be at Majestic Oaks,
And surely there'll be time,
And we'll take a few bids yet,
For auld lang syne!

We sit together every week,
And bid on items fine,
But we wonder through this auction list,
and Sing auld lang syne.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot
and never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
and days of auld lang syne?

For auld lang syne, this year,
for auld lang syne,
we'll give events and kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot
and never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
and days of auld lang syne?

And here's a hand, my Great Lakes friends
And give's a hand o' thine
We'll take and sell your items yet
For auld lang syne

As if that wasn't enough, the Majestically Mad Monday Crew will bring it all home with their own event at the castle each week - Next Monday it's Majestic Casino!

In honor of the new year, we had hoped to recustomize the auction house in hopes of getting a new look for 2005 and we pretty much just did not have the time to empty the house and redo it all. So forgive us as we are in the process of redesign and feel free to share with Pratt your thoughts on a new design, even if he is in the middle of an auction he wont mind really ;P

Ok all that aside we have some fantastic items to show you this first auction week including - a Real Wig (rumored to be part of Scorps wig collection),

How MOA Does Christmas
Posted Friday, December 17, 2004

With the regular MOA Monday staff bound, gagged, and locked up in the castle dungeon, The Obnoxious Elf, Ignorance, Kevin Kringle, and the rest sat around discussing how they could take advantage of the situation...

"You know, those MOA people keep doing the same ole thing over and over", said Kevin.
"It's always auction this, casino that, can't they do anything new and exciting?" the Obnoxious Elf replied.
"I must stop Christmas from coming!" said the Grinch.
"But how?" Ignorance added.

Cindy Lou Who was quietly floating about the storage room, looking for toys to play with. As she pulled out items from the MOA prize stash the Grinch's eyes widened!!!

Then he got an idea! An awful idea! THE GRINCH GOT A WONDERFUL, AWFUL IDEA!

"Let's clean out all these packages, boxes and bags and throw them into the bowls of Hythloth!" cried the Grinch
"They say your heart is two sizes too small Mr. Grinch, but I'm thinking the real reason you hate the whole Christmas Season is you have a cavity." Hermey da Misfit said smiling... eyeing a new opportunity to perform dental duties.
"I'll say, that is simply a marvelous idea Mr. Grinch! Although I wish to suggest that we do a fancy new game and use those items as prizes instead!" said Mrs. Claus, her eyes twinkling.
"*Hic*, and I have a great *hic* idea for a fun memory matching game!" exclaimed Blitzen, the Drunken Reindeer.
"Will there be dying?" the very lonely looking Ghost of Christmas Past asked Blitzen.
"It's Monday! There's always dying!" the Obnoxious Elf said with a sideways glance to the Grinch and a wink to Ignorance!

Please join the Zany Cast of Christmas Irregulars as they present a brand new game for your Holiday enjoyment! This Monday night, December 20th, 8pm CST (9pm EST), at the MOA Castle on Ice Island, the Majestically Mad crew will host a new game with prizes GALORE!!! It is rumored that the total prize package is valued near 10 Million gold!!!

... oh and... speaking of rumors... I heard Santa may be near???

*Gates will be provided from West Brit Bank throughout the eventing*

Monty & Vanna Rescue Mission: Big Reward... HUGE!!!
Posted Monday, November 22, 2004

From the desk of Grendlyn,

On October 12th, Monty Hall and Vanna White left the castle for a Columbus Day Memorial Boat Excursion. It was only supposed to be a three hour tour (a three hour tour). But... the weather, well, it got a little rough and you know those tiny boats... they tend to get tossed a bit... and well... it's been over a month and Monty and Vanna still have not returned! ... and Justin!!! Justin's been missing for eons!!! We must find our missing crewmates!!! We MUST!

Tonight, November 22, marks the first anniversary of Majestic Madness. We'd planned a big celebration but have to forgo the hoopla as how could we celebrate without Monty Hall, Vanna White and Justin Pierceson? So instead of Balloons, there will be Boats. Instead of Trivia Questions, there will be Clues. Instead of Exploding Vannas there will be monsters (well, maybe Vanna will still explode if we are lucky), but... there will always be CASH and PRIZES!!! ... 12.5 Million of them!!!

Yes, you heard me correctly. MOA is offering 2.5 Million Gold apiece for the return of Monty, Vanna, and Justin. So gather your friends, form your search parties, and show up at the MOA Castle on Ice Island at 8:00 pm CST (9pm EST). Gates will be provide from many Trammel banks.

Here is what we know so far...

  • They left Ice Island on the SS Guppy October 12th.
  • We've heard rumors that they are lost at sea and have become fish food, so a watery search will be required (boats and sextants will be provided)
  • We've also heard that they are just beyond "The Field of Plenty"??? We do not know if this is a reference to Heaven or perhaps a song by Sting. All we know is it is rumored that treasures abound here (I sure hope it doesn't mean Heaven).
  • There are those in the land and shops of Trammel that are said to possess information leading to the location of our missing castaways.

Rules of the Quest

  • If you find Monty, Vanna, or Justin, you must
    • Resurrect them if you find them dead,
    • Add them to your party,
    • Escort them to the Castle.
  • If, along the way, your rescuee meets an untimely death,
    • They will remove themselves from your party
    • They may become dazed and confused and wander away
  • Rescue attempts can be made by either a single person, or by a party.
  • Rewards will be split between the party members that successfully return any of our missing staff back to the Castle.
  • Death Robes are a symbol of your bravery and should be kept.

So come on over to the castle tonight, Monday, November 22 at 8:00 pm CST and help us find our friends and maybe make a few pieces of gold in the process!!!

MOA Does NOT Support UDon'tKnow, aka Mike Jerome
Posted Thursday, November 11, 2004

On November 10th, at 5:23pm EST, I received the following message from:

"UDon'tKnow" aka Mike Jerome at ICQ #162473744

"Due to the recent success off the last batch of soul stones I sold I am making available 10 more! I have sold to MOA, BTH and MPS. Feel free to verify my sales with any of them! Good Luck!"

Please note, MOA does not support this person or endorse the validity of his codes. We are currently unaware of having any dealings with him regarding Soulstones.

Our only dealings with Mike Jerome have been negative in nature and thus, we are adding him to our MOA Scams and Scammers page.

Pratt's response to Mike Jerome, "Hello there, I am not sure who you are but I am adding your name to the people not to buy from list of the MOA site. Don't ever use our good name in your foul abusive dealings. I will also let REA know about this."

UDon'tKnow's Response, c**k s**ker. what the f*** are you talking about. I have never once scamded an MOA. I have sold 25 VALID Soul in game to date and NEVER ripped off one person. I take this as a direct insult and I will do my best to ensure that people know that MOA is nothing but b**lsh*t. F*** you and your guild you piece of s**t. F*** MOA

Majestic Oaks Weekly

The cold wind blows harshly now from the shores of Vesper west through the clearing of now bare trees that holds within the Majestic Oaks Auction House. The unprotected area alongside the Old Magic teleporter had to be readied for the upcoming frost and eventual snow storms.

Emerald walked the circumference of the house barking out orders to the crew of dwarves who pounded both stone and iron into the shapes needed to enclose this fortress. As the crew worked methodically, Blessed Industry and Lord NMuntz discussed another problem entirely, it seemed last weeks official sale of Drunken Master's belongings had seriously hampered productivity. This week their crew would have to work even harder to keep up with demand.

Grendlyn waited patiently with a new staff roster including several new faces to begin their trials this week. She bade the gentlemen to add to their active list the names of Vierge Darkmoon, Lady Kiss and Haras and it seemed the managers were still hiring in some capacities. All this new blood in anticipation of the Holiday activities and events that will accompany the busy times.

Santa was already scoping out the house layout for this years festivities and it would be grand to say the least. A sudden Whoosh sound sucked the air from the day as the fireplace/furnace contraption sprung to life throwing soot and hot stale air from the stables and front door of MOA. Things were coming along nicely for Soul's inspection and the staff got down to making out the items list for this upcoming Wednesday and Thursday nights.

Majestic Oaks Auctions are always Wed and Thurs starting at 9 pm by the Eastern sky and running at least 2 full hours in which you can buy the finest items auction style every week. This upcoming event was no exception as the list bore items such as Hair and Beard Neon Dye Bottles, SoulStone Code, The Holy Sword, Dread head of Joanna herself, A White Bell, An Ancient Samurai Helm, Lots of Mini Artifacts and New UOSE items plus the finest Weapons and Armors this side of Minoc.

So save some time for the fun and excitement, your chance to win one of many gold prizes throughout the week and maybe even obtain a few great deals along the way. Look for the November event crew to create something fun and exciting and maybe even Turkey like for this month and you will not even believe the talk that is going around about the Christmas Spectacular.

Hope to see you all this and every week either at auctions or stop by and visit that looney bin castle on ice island every Monday for Majestic Madness.

Cheers for now!

A Friend Has Gone
Posted Saturday, November 06, 2004

On November 04, Majestics Oaks lost one of its own - Fortubo, aka Christopher Ahearne, passed away.

Fortubo had been a member of MOA since June of 2004 but had been a patron long before that. Self-dubbed, "The WeatherMan", Fortubo would send a 'Sosaria Weather Report' out to everyone on his ICQ list every morning. Actually, I think his daily weather report was really his way of saying, "GoooooOOOOOOd Morning Sosaria and fellow Britannians. Hope Everyone has a Safe and Joyous day."

Fortubo was also a bit of a pack rat. He was often seen at Brit bank picking up items from the ground to sell or later use. One of his latest collection efforts was to get a complete set of the Obsidian Statues (there are 52 different statues). While he didn't quite get there, he did manage to collect 21 complete sets of monster paintings from the statue quest... well, that is until he faced the dreaded item count limit on his house.

Mostly, Fortubo was a kind, caring, and helpful guy. Even when he wasn't feeling up to it, he was often seen at MOA Auctions helping out in any way he could. At the recent Fall Festival, Fortubo ran around the crowd passing out little gift baggies containing little odds and ends (the idea to do this was Fortubo's and was born one day as he looked at the horde of Treasure Maps he'd amassed and chose to give them away). Fortubo was also a frequent volunteer at the Castle for the Majestic Madness events.

Chris was only 34 when he passed. He had been diagnosed with multiple cancers and knew his life would be short. Yet he considered living with cancer inspiring as he sought to squeeze the most out of his life, his relationships, and he encouraged others to do the same.

"Enjoy each day to the fullest for you never know if there will be a tomorrow."

"Get out and enjoy the day, the sun is up there is no rain in sight"

Chris "Fortubo" Ahearne
(1969 - 2004)

Rest well WeatherMan - We trust you'll find peace in Heaven

Messages of condolence can be left for Chris's family here.

Pratt let the note fall to his desk and smiled slightly at what Drunken had gotten himself into this time, deciding he did not want the details he began to write a scroll of his own.

Soul Blighter,

I am writing you this 3 days prior to your Wednesday auction event and requesting a personal favor details not following ;P Go to the estate of Drunken Master and take possession of all items of the greatest value. List them for this weeks auction and put all other items back one day to Thursday. I know what this means and I appreciate your attention and am counting on your discretion to keep this under wraps.

Pratt

The next day Soul and Ethereal ride up on Drunken Masters abode, caravans in tow and ready to meet any welcoming party. A lone figure came from within the mansion to announce their welcome and granted them free reign of the establishment. Ethereal shrugged and rode on, eager to get to the days business for she was needed elsewhere all the time lately.

A small preview of the list made by MOA staff this day is as follows....
Too Much LRC Armor
Dozens of Paragon Chests and Mini Artifacts
Reversed bandages
Rewards deeds and Tubs
Sandals of varied Types
Plus 20 Stats Scroll
White Xmas Statues
Tapestry of Sosaria
Potted Plants and Ethereals

That is just some of what you can expect to behold off this Wednesday 11-3 at Majestic Oaks Auctions. On Thursday we will feature an extra 30 Minutes of Madness to catch-up to ourselves and keep the submitters from breaking down the doors for their gold ;P As always you can check this list of items at www.uo-moa.net. Every Wednesday and Thursday starting 9 pm Eastern, the MOA team will open its doors to the public for as many items as we can sell in the two hour time period. Always games, prizes and random giveaways. Gates are provided from the West Brit bank all through the night for your convenience. Mondays are different events from the MOA castle on Ice Island, a schedule of which is also located on our site. The next event will be Chests of Doom & Delight on Nov. 08.
