The following information is posted in an effort to help our friends of Great Lakes avoid being scammed or to at least recognize false deals. If you can add to, dispute, or confirm anything you see here, we would greatly appreciate it and pass the information along accordingly. All information here is provided by friends of MOA and/or is first hand experience by a staff member!

Most popular scams and scammers

"UDon'tKnow" aka Mike Jerome, ICQ #162473744 - Sent out a mass ICQ stating he was selling Soulstone codes and that MOA could verify the validity of his codes. MOA cannot and will not verify the validity of his codes. The only dealings MOA has had with this person have been negative. MOA does not support or endorse him and recommends that our customers not buy from him.

UDon'tKnow's Response:
c**k s**ker. what the f*** are you talking about. I have never once scamded an MOA. I have sold 25 VALID Soul in game to date and NEVER ripped off one person. I take this as a direct insult and I will do my best to ensure that people know that MOA is nothing but b**lsh*t. F*** you and your guild you piece of s**t. F*** MOA

Renowned, formerly of RKS auction house is a thief and should not be trusted. While a member of the RKS guild, Renowned stole items of significant value along with a large amount of gold, from his own guild.

Sabin, Miner, kud, and Jaclyn will offer to purchase high-end items and will insist on using an MOA Broker. They will then have a friend impersonate the MOA broker broker and run off with your item. Remember, when doing any deal with an MOA Broker, make sure they have the MOA title above their head. Also verify their identity via icq. MOA staff member ICQ's can be found here.

Poemaster, Kyra, Mean Green - these are all around scammers who mostly try to steal from the auction supporters by posing as staff for the auction. They'll also go around telling people they were scammed by such and such group when they never really had any dealings at all just to besmirch an event's good name.

Peaches is a wannabe of the above group - a pathetic copy and very poor at convincing anyone he/she is really an upstanding member of the UO community. Peaches has impersonated ITA staff again and again.

Dark Shadoe of D*F tries to pass off renamed binding bracelets as Multi-Jeweled Jewelry and fake Bonus Bracelets. He has also sold runebooks with artifact rarity 11 on them which were really just renamed runebooks that were dyed.

There is a bug that allows a player to remove their backpack and trade it to another character thus making a newbiefied bag (one you cannot lose) that will allow you to carry items that cannot be lost either. This is not a legal item so dont buy any.

Tradespot Scammers List - Live and Die by this Information!!!

  • Runebooks can be renamed.
  • Binding Bracelets (yellow gold) can be renamed.
  • Guild Names can be impersonated such as MOA can be duped by using M0A (one is an O, the other is a Zero).
  • ICQ #'s are not secure. People can log into others ICQ accounts and/or come close enough to those numbers to be mistaken.

Majestic Oaks Staff will never take a submission outside of the auction house and only when they are behind the counter. Don't be afraid to ask for names and phone numbers when dealing in cash. Anyone not willing to provide such things is not worth risking your money on.
